Shield, Hammer, Knife

From the Collection of Brandon Knapp

Although Thoronia is generally known to be a peaceful state, time and again the Republic is thrown into conflict. In the early part of the 11th century Thoronia entered into war with the neighboring nation of Kurtonia when the country had turned the music up too loudly and played the Barenaked Ladies on repeat for 3600 hours straight. Thoronian’s were inexperienced at war, and struggled at first. Regardless of their archaic weapons, they still persevered out of sheer strength. Their shields were built of sturdy wood and could repel arrows and stop even the thickest of swords. Their knives, although small, would be brandished as a last resort, as Thoronians generally don’t like killing others. The hammer, as far as history can tell, was used solely by generals as a sign of leadership. Thoronian’s eventually won, but not after several thousand had shed their blood.
